With a new year came a new venture, an event for dads and kids, to give them some time and space to spend time together and have some fun. The first event was a success and started small but with promising beginnings.
Oddly, almost all of the posters I put up on trees in the area were removed and it’s a mystery as to why. After some investigation, I discovered that it’s not just our posters from church that are removed but any that have been put on trees. I was mildly annoyed on discovering this, but as I’m allergic to something on the trees and it’s a long process to walk round and put them all up, I’m not too worried about having to find other ways to publicise events around here.
Despite the publicity set-back, we had 2 brand-new families come along and have a great time with their children. Lured by the offer of fresh coffee and bacon sandwiches, and kept by the vast array of games, train sets, play-dough and ride-on cars, the dads and kids had a lovely time with each other and we hope to repeat the event very soon!
