12 shows in 12 months #6 SHOWSTOPPERS

I’m counting this show as one of my 12 as it was at the E4 Udderbelly Festival on the Southbank, and it cost as much as I’d want to pay for a musical!

I saw Showstoppers on Sunday evening with my best friend and upcoming Musical theatre legend Angus and our equally talented Musical theatre legend Amy, who also stars in the show at times. Good company for an improvised musical. 🙂

The show lasts just an hour and is entirely improvised so each night is different. It takes 2 years to train to be in the cast and the performers were all incredibly talented at bouncing songs and dialogue off each other. Our show was set in an asylum in the eighties and featured songs in the style of Mary Poppins, Sondheim and Zorba the Greek amongst others. Sounds odd? It was actually a very entertaining story, cleverly woven together.

If you get a chance to go to a show, make the most of it. Every one will be different but I’m sure just as good! It’s on at the festival here in London for a while then I believe it might be heading to Edinburgh…
