An exciting Sunday – God is on the move…

We launched another group this morning at church, a specially dedicated group for the 2-5 year-old age group. As a result, our church families turned out in force this morning and there was a lovely vibe as the kids learnt about how much God loves them and did some fun craft activities. It was so exciting to look around church and see them all arrive today and I can’t wait to see how this group grows and develops over the coming months…

I had 8 kids upstairs for Jesus Crew and started to teach them about the gift of prophecy and how to listen to God. Yet again, the Holy Spirit turned up and reassured the children of how much God loves them.

1 Corinthians 14v3 says:

‘the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.’

We learnt that God is talking to us all the time, it’s just a question of us having our internal satellite dishes pointing in the right direction to pick up a clear signal. God can speak to anyone, and He can give us things to say to others from Him. He just wants to share with us how much He loves us. When He gives us words for people they are to strengthen, encourage and comfort others, like a great big hug from our Father in heaven.

As the children spent another moment in quiet reflection, waiting on the Holy Spirit, once again they received pictures and impressions. This week Jesus wasn’t winning a race, He was holding up the FA Cup for one child, another had a picture of cat that had recently died and saw it with Jesus in heaven. One girl saw angels above us in the room. All amazing stuff!

I love it that the Holy Spirit is revealing things to these children as they wait on Him!

He is awesome and totally worthy of all our praise.
